CS7600 Handheld Spectrophotometer — d/8, SCI and SCE, LED, one aperture

The CS7600 handheld spectrophotometer (COLO product code PRO7954) measures colour and colour difference of plastics, paints, inks, textiles and paper with d/8 geometry and simultaneous SCI and SCE. It has a full-spectrum LED light source, one aperture — Ø8 mm or Ø4 mm, selected with the order — and the same camera positioning and 3.5″ touch screen as the larger models of the series.

Overview

The CS7600 keeps the optics, sphere and sensor of the CS7700 and leaves out what many users do not need every day: the UV source, the second aperture and Bluetooth. Results are transferred to the PC software by USB.

CS7600 handheld spectrophotometer

Key characteristics

  • d/8 geometry, SCI and SCE measured simultaneously
  • Full-spectrum LED light source (without UV), 400–700 nm
  • One aperture: Ø8 mm or Ø4 mm, selected with the order
  • Repeatability ΔE*ab ≤ 0.04, inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.2
  • Built-in camera for positioning, 3.5″ touch screen
  • USB, 1 000 standards and 20 000 samples

Suitable for

  • Plastic parts, plaques, masterbatch and granules (with the powder test box)
  • Paints, coatings, inks and printed material
  • Textiles, leather and paper
  • Colour quality control with CIE Lab (D65/10°) and ΔE pass/fail at the line or at goods receipt

Why this instrument

Most colour checks in production compare a sample with a standard under D65 and decide pass or fail. For non-fluorescent samples of one size range the CS7600 provides full-spectrum data and SCI/SCE measurement, so glossy and textured samples can be judged as the eye sees them (SCE) or independent of gloss (SCI) — without paying for UV and a second aperture where they are not needed.

Software and data

Colour quality PC software with handheld spectrophotometer

The PC software (free download) stores standards with their tolerances, shows the spectrum and the colour difference, follows trends and exports results for reports. Standards can also be created and measured directly on the instrument.

Data are transferred by USB.

Standard delivery

  • Instrument with white and black calibration cavity
  • One aperture, Ø8 mm or Ø4 mm (selected with the order)
  • PC software (download), USB cable, power adapter, user guide
  • Protective cover and wrist strap

Optional: micro printer, powder test box. The delivered configuration for a specific order is the one confirmed in the COLO.Science quotation.

Knowledge base

Selection guide

  • Very small areas, fine lines, small printed elements: CS7708 — adds a 1 × 3 mm slot aperture to Ø8 and Ø4 mm.
  • Fluorescent or optically brightened samples, large and small parts: CS7700 — UV light source, Ø8 and Ø4 mm, Bluetooth.
  • Non-fluorescent samples of one size range: CS7600 — same optics and camera, one aperture selected with the order, USB.
  • Lighter instrument, routine Lab and ΔE checks: the CS70 portable series.
  • Transmittance, liquids or haze: a benchtop spectrophotometer is needed — see the CS60 series.
