CS7010 Portable Spectrocolorimeter — stand-alone colour difference checks

The CS7010 portable spectrocolorimeter (COLO product code PRO7960) is the entry model of the CS70 series: d/8 geometry, a spectral sensor and an Ø8 mm aperture for CIE Lab and ΔE of plastics, paints, textiles and paper. Standards, tolerances and pass/fail are handled directly on the 3.5″ touch screen, without a PC.

Overview

The CS7010 is meant for checks where the result is read on the spot — at goods receipt, at a machine or in a shop. USB is used for charging; results stay in the instrument (500 standards and 10 000 samples). When data must go to a PC, choose the CS7020.

Key characteristics

  • d/8 geometry, SCI
  • Combined LED light source, spectral sensor 400–700 nm
  • Aperture Ø8 mm
  • Repeatability ΔE*ab ≤ 0.1, inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.4
  • CIE Lab, XYZ, Yxy, LCh · ΔE*ab and ΔE*00 · D65, A, F2
  • Stand-alone: tolerances and pass/fail on the instrument

Suitable for

  • Plastic parts, plaques, masterbatch and granules (with the powder test box)
  • Paints, coatings, inks and printed material
  • Textiles, leather and paper
  • Colour quality control with CIE Lab (D65/10°) and ΔE pass/fail at the line or at goods receipt

Why this instrument

Not every colour check needs software and a report. When an operator only has to confirm that a part or a batch matches the standard, the CS7010 gives a spectral Lab and ΔE reading and a pass/fail decision in about 1.5 seconds, with nothing to install.

Data on the instrument

Standards, tolerances and measurements are kept in the instrument — 500 standards and 10 000 samples. The CS7010 does not connect to the PC; for data transfer and reports the CS7020 is the right choice.

Standard delivery

  • Instrument with white and black calibration box
  • Ø8 mm platform aperture
  • USB cable, power adapter, user guide
  • Protective cover and wrist strap

Optional: powder test box. The delivered configuration for a specific order is the one confirmed in the COLO.Science quotation.

Selection guide

  • Fluorescent or optically brightened samples, small parts: CS7036 — UV lamp and a second Ø4 mm aperture, Bluetooth.
  • Full spectrum and SCI/SCE without UV: CS7030 — same optics and camera, Ø8 mm aperture, USB.
  • Lab and ΔE with PC software, budget first: CS7020.
  • Pass/fail on the spot, no PC: CS7010.
  • Transmittance, liquids or haze: a benchtop spectrophotometer is needed — see the CS60 series.
