CS6060 Benchtop Spectrophotometer — LED and UV light, reflectance d/8 and transmittance d/0
The CS6060 benchtop spectrophotometer (COLO product code PRO7905) measures reflectance and transmittance colour of plastics, coatings, films, liquids and powders in one instrument. A combined LED light source with an additional UV lamp and 400/420 nm UV cut-off, a 154 mm integrating sphere and simultaneous SCI/SCE give repeatable CIE Lab and ΔE values for colour formulation and colour quality control.
Which benchtop spectrophotometer?
Overview
The CS6060 uses the same sphere, geometries and aperture set as the CS6080, with an LED light source instead of xenon. It suits laboratories that need the full aperture range down to Ø4 mm, UV control for optically brightened samples and Bluetooth; the transmittance test component and the Ø4 mm transmittance clamp are part of the standard delivery.

Key characteristics
- Reflectance d/8 and transmittance d/0, SCI and SCE measured simultaneously
- Combined LED lamp and UV lamp 360–780 nm, 400 and 420 nm UV cut-off
- Repeatability ΔE*ab ≤ 0.01 (reflectance) and ≤ 0.02 (transmittance)
- Inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.12
- Reflectance apertures Ø30/25.4, 18/15, 10/8 and 6/4 mm, recognised automatically
- Haze per ASTM D1003, USB and Bluetooth
Suitable for
- Opaque and translucent plastic plaques, masterbatch and compounds
- Paints, coatings, inks and pigments; textiles and paper
- Films, sheets and glass in transmittance; liquids in cuvettes
- Colour quality control with CIE Lab (D65/10°) and ΔE pass/fail
Why this instrument
A quality-control instrument is used many times per shift, and its value lies in giving the same answer every time. The CS6060 combines repeatability of ΔE*ab 0.01 with inter-instrument agreement of ΔE*ab 0.12, so pass/fail decisions stay stable and values remain comparable with other instruments of the same class — with an LED light source and the full set of apertures and transmittance accessories in the standard delivery.

Software and data

The PC software stores standards with their tolerances, shows the spectrum, the colour plot and the colour difference, and exports results for reports and archiving. Quality-control and sample modes are also available directly on the 7″ touch screen.
Reflectance and transmittance results are kept in the same database, so one standard can be checked in both modes.

Selection guide
- Close agreement with other laboratories, fluorescent samples: CS6080 — xenon lamp, three UV cut-off filters and ΔE*ab ≤ 0.12 between instruments.
- Same agreement and aperture range with an LED source: CS6060 — LED and UV lamp, apertures down to Ø4 mm, Bluetooth.
- Xenon light at a lower price, second instrument for daily checks: CS6020.
- Routine colour checks, budget first: CS6010 — LED entry model with the same sphere and geometries.
- Transmittance or haze: all four models; with the CS6020 and CS6010 order the transmittance test component.
- Large or curved parts at the production line: a portable spectrophotometer is the better tool — ask us for the right model.
