CS3060 Portable Spectrophotometer — d/8, SCI and SCE, LED and UV, two apertures
The CS3060 portable spectrophotometer (COLO product code PRO4632) measures colour and colour difference of plastics, paints, inks, textiles, leather, paper and powders. d/8 geometry with SCI and SCE measured together, a full-spectrum LED with UV light source and two switchable apertures (Ø8 and Ø4 mm) are combined in a compact instrument with a 3.5″ touch screen and camera positioning.
Which portable model?
Overview
The CS3060 is the top model of the portable CS30 series. A 48 mm integrating sphere, concave grating and 256-element CMOS sensor give spectral data for colour matching and colour quality control; the UV source can be included or excluded for fluorescent and optically brightened materials, and the Ø4 mm aperture reaches small parts.

Key characteristics
- d/8 geometry, SCI and SCE measured together
- Full-spectrum LED and UV light source, 400–700 nm
- Two switchable apertures: Ø8 mm (MAV) and Ø4 mm (SAV)
- Repeatability ΔE*ab ≤ 0.03, inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.15
- Built-in camera for positioning, 3.5″ touch screen
- USB and Bluetooth, 1 000 standards and 20 000 samples
Suitable for
- Plastic parts, plaques, masterbatch and granules (with the powder test box)
- Paints, coatings, inks and printed material
- Textiles, leather and paper
- Colour quality control with CIE Lab (D65/10°) and ΔE pass/fail in the laboratory, at the line or at goods receipt
Why this instrument
A portable spectrophotometer is useful when the same instrument serves the colour laboratory and the production floor. The CS3060 gives full-spectrum data, SCI and SCE in one measurement, 18 illuminants on the instrument and the usual whiteness, yellowness, metamerism and colour strength indices — and stands steadily on flat samples for repeatable placing.

Software and data

The PC software (free download) stores standards with their tolerances, shows the spectrum and the colour difference, follows trends and exports results for reports. Standards can also be created and measured directly on the instrument.
Data are transferred by USB or Bluetooth.

Selection guide
- Fluorescent or optically brightened samples, large and small parts: CS3060 — UV light source, Ø8 and Ø4 mm, Bluetooth.
- One sample size range, or very small areas: CS3020 — one aperture of your choice, Ø8, Ø4 or 1 × 3 mm, Bluetooth.
- Routine Lab and ΔE checks of non-fluorescent samples: CS3010 — Ø8 mm, USB.
- Pistol-grip instrument for parts on the line: the CS77 handheld series.
- Transmittance, liquids or haze: a benchtop spectrophotometer is needed — see the CS60 series.
