ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator — built-in block, DC 12 V, RT+5 °C to 100 °C
The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator heats one built-in aluminium block for 0.2 ml to 2.0 ml tubes or 0.2 ml strips. The block format is chosen with the order — six formats from 5 to 16 positions — and stays in the instrument. Temperature is controlled from 5 °C above room temperature to 100 °C with ≤ ±0.5 °C accuracy at 37 °C. It weighs 0.4 kg and runs on DC 12 V, from a power adapter, a vehicle socket or a battery. Product code PRO4533.
Heating only, or heating and cooling?
The smallest dry bath in the range — one tube format, 12 V, anywhere
Many workflows use one tube format and a handful of tubes at a fixed temperature. For that work a dry bath with interchangeable blocks is more than needed. The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator keeps the block inside the instrument, cuts the footprint to 135 × 100 mm and the weight to 0.4 kg, and takes its power from any 12 V source — on the bench, in a car, on a boat or at a sampling site.

- Fixed-temperature steps in DNA amplification workflows.
- Initial denaturation of samples before electrophoresis.
- Field, mobile and vehicle work where only a 12 V source is available.
Why a mini dry bath incubator with a built-in block
A block that never leaves the instrument cannot be lost, mixed up or fitted wrongly, and it is always at the same thermal contact with the heater. The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator is ordered in the format the lab actually uses, and from then on the tubes simply go in. With no block change and no water, the instrument is ready for the same routine every day.
If the work changes between tube formats, the ALEMADR-MB takes five interchangeable blocks; if samples must go below room temperature, the ALEMADR-MC also cools. Both are compared in the technical specification.
Model, product code and block formats
The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator is supplied with one built-in block. Order the main unit together with the product code of the block format; the block cannot be exchanged later. For several formats, order one instrument per format. Quote and order with the COLO product codes.

RT = room temperature; the control range starts 5 °C above the temperature of the room the instrument stands in. Accuracy and uniformity are stated at 37 °C for the ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator.
Operating functions
Temperature control
The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator is set from 0 °C to 100 °C and controls the block from 5 °C above room temperature up to 100 °C. The display shows 0.1 °C, accuracy and uniformity are ≤ ±0.5 °C at 37 °C, and the block goes from 37 °C to 100 °C in about fifteen minutes. The instrument heats only.
Timer
The timer is set in hours, minutes or seconds, from 1 to 999 in each unit, so the same instrument covers a 30-second denaturation and an overnight hold. Without a set time it runs continuously. The LCD shows the temperature and the time during the run.
Automatic functions and calibration
Auto running is built in, and after a power failure the instrument resumes the run when the supply returns — important with vehicle sockets and batteries. Electronic calibration lets the user set the instrument to any local temperature standard.
Good thermal contact
Use tubes that fit the block holes snugly and keep the block clean and dry. Heat passes through the contact between tube wall and aluminium, so choosing the right block format for the tube matters as much as the set value. Keep the transparent cover closed during the run for an even temperature in the ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator.
Build, power supply and safe operation
The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator runs on DC 12 V / 2 A and draws 24 W, so it works from a mains adapter, a vehicle socket or a 12 V battery. Control is microprocessor-based, with over-temperature protection in both software and hardware. A transparent hinged cover keeps the block closed and the tubes visible.
It measures 135 × 100 × 75 mm and weighs 0.4 kg — small enough for a crowded bench, a fume hood corner or a field case. Confirm the power source and the plug type with the order.

Applications and operational value
The ALEMADR-MB2 mini dry bath incubator is used for preservation and reactions of samples, DNA amplification steps and the initial denaturation of samples for electrophoresis — wherever one tube format is used at a set temperature above room temperature.

Six built-in formats cover 0.2 ml PCR tubes and ELISA 8-well strips with 16 positions, 7 × 0.5 ml, 5 × 1.5 ml and 5 × 2.0 ml microtubes, and 5 tubes of Ø 9.3 mm. Custom block formats can be made on request.
Against a water bath there is no water to fill, change or contaminate, and the 12 V supply takes the incubator where mains power is not at hand. Several units, each in its own format, can stand side by side on a small bench.
Selection guide
- One format or several? One tube format — ALEMADR-MB2; changing formats — the ALEMADR-MB with interchangeable blocks.
- Tube format. Choose 0.2, 0.5, 1.5 or 2.0 ml tubes, Ø 9.3 mm tubes or 0.2 ml strips and count the positions per run (5 to 16).
- Below room temperature? The ALEMADR-MB2 heats only; the ALEMADR-MC cools to RT−15 °C.
- Power. DC 12 V / 2 A — confirm adapter, vehicle socket or battery and the plug type.
