GOBI-GC Laboratory Hotplate with Programmable Glass-Ceramic Heating Surface

GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate is a configurable glass-ceramic heating platform for controlled sample preparation, digestion, synthesis and evaporation workflows. Three plate sizes provide working areas from 400 × 280 mm to 600 × 400 mm, while the separate LCD touch-screen PID controller supports ten named methods, six-stage programs and real-time temperature-curve supervision.

PROGRAMMABLE LARGE-AREA LABORATORY HEATING

Separate control electronics from the immediate heating and reagent zone

The split architecture connects the heating unit and controller through dedicated aviation-style power and signal connections. Where the laboratory layout permits, the controller can be positioned away from the hottest part of the work zone, improving access to the interface and reducing direct exposure of the electronics to hot vessels and routine reagent handling.

The smooth 6 mm glass-ceramic surface provides a large, flat working area for compatible vessels. The GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate should be selected according to vessel footprint, total load, target temperature, electrical supply and the validated laboratory method.

CORE PRODUCT ADVANTAGES

Controlled heating for repeatable laboratory workflows

GLASS-CERAMIC

Smooth 6 mm working surface

The flat, non-porous surface supports stable vessel positioning, responsive heating and straightforward wipe-down after the plate has been made safe and allowed to cool.

PID CONTROL

Programmable temperature control

The touch-screen controller provides 0.1 °C setting increments, multi-point compensation, real-time curves and programmable time-temperature procedures.

SPLIT DESIGN

Separate heater and controller

Dedicated connections allow the control unit to be arranged separately from the heating plate while keeping the complete system electrically and functionally integrated.

DUAL MONITORING

Process and protection functions

Two temperature probes support process supervision and the adjustable independent over-temperature protection circuit.

High-temperature glass-ceramic surface

The GC25 and GC35 models operate from RT+20 °C to 500 °C, while the larger GC45 model operates from RT+20 °C to 460 °C.

GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate LCD touch screen with live temperature curve

LCD touch interface and live curves

Operators can view the set point, process time and heating curve while selecting or editing stored multi-stage methods.

Aviation style power and signal connectors for GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate controller

Dedicated controller connections

Power and signal connections link the remote controller to the heater. Cables and connectors must remain protected from hot vessels, spills and corrosive vapours.

GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate structure with glass ceramic plate insulation controller and leveling feet

Sealed and service-conscious construction

The system combines a sealed 304 stainless-steel body, nano-resin external coating, titanium-plated insulation structure and adjustable levelling feet.

INTELLIGENT TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Build repeatable heating methods instead of relying on manual set-point changes

Ten named methods

Store up to ten commonly used procedures and assign custom names so routine operators can identify validated programs more easily.

Six-stage programming

Define up to six temperature and time segments for preheating, ramping, holding, reaction, reduction and end-of-method logic.

Multi-point compensation

Compensation at multiple temperature points helps refine the controller response across the intended working range.

Over-temperature protection

An adjustable independent protection function provides an additional safety layer beside normal PID process control.

The GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate provides a controller resolution and temperature increment of 0.1 °C. This resolution describes the setting and display capability; it does not replace method validation or direct confirmation of the actual sample temperature where the process requires it.

MODEL SELECTION

Choose the working area, temperature range and electrical load

All GOBI-GC models use an LCD touch controller, a 6 mm glass-ceramic plate, a maximum plate load of 5 kg and a timing range of 0–9999 minutes. Model selection should begin with the vessel arrangement and available electrical installation rather than plate size alone.

Applications for the GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate

Sample preparation

Controlled preheating, dissolution and conditioning of compatible samples and reagents before instrumental analysis.

Digestion procedures

Heating of compatible digestion vessels for validated acid or reagent-based procedures with appropriate local exhaust.

Chemical synthesis

Repeatable thermal segments for laboratory reactions that require controlled ramp, hold and reaction periods.

Evaporation and concentration

Controlled reduction of water or compatible solvents using suitable vessels, supervision and ventilation.

METHOD DEVELOPMENT

Define the vessel and method before setting the temperature

  • Match vessel material, dimensions and bottom geometry to the reagent and target temperature.
  • Account for sample mass, vessel count, distribution and thermal lag when defining hold times.
  • Use validated sample-temperature monitoring where the method requires confirmation inside the vessel.
  • Record method names, program stages, acceptance criteria and shutdown requirements.

SAFE LABORATORY INTEGRATION

Plan ventilation, clearances and electrical protection

  • Use suitable local exhaust or a fume hood for hazardous or corrosive vapours.
  • Do not exceed the 5 kg plate load or the vessel manufacturer’s temperature and loading limits.
  • Keep flammable materials, cables and control electronics away from the hot surface.
  • Follow the SDS, laboratory risk assessment and method-appropriate PPE requirements.

CONFIGURATION GUIDE

How to select the correct GOBI-GC model

Begin with the real vessel layout. Confirm the number of vessels, their outside dimensions, total loaded mass, required spacing and whether the bases make stable contact with the glass-ceramic surface. The plate must be large enough for stable positioning without exceeding the 5 kg maximum load.

Then confirm the highest validated operating temperature and the required heating power. GOBI-GC25 and GOBI-GC35 reach 500 °C, while GOBI-GC45 provides the largest area with a maximum control temperature of 460 °C. Larger power ratings require appropriate electrical installation and circuit protection.

The GOBI-GC laboratory hotplate is a heating platform, not a complete digestion or evaporation safety system. Vessel compatibility, ventilation, spill control, operator protection and actual method performance remain part of the laboratory’s validated procedure.
