COLO.Science — EPO800 RESEARCH-GRADE PROFESSIONAL COMPOUND MICROSCOPE (BINOCULAR / TRINOCULAR)

EPO800 Research Grade Professional Compound Microscope

A research-grade upright compound microscope platform with UIS2 / infinity-corrected optics (F=200 mm), variable Köhler illumination, and modular readiness for DIC / phase contrast / darkfield / polarization / fluorescence (configuration-dependent).

UIS2 / Infinity optics (F=200 mm)
Variable Köhler illumination
LED diascopic (≈50,000 h) / Halogen option
DIC nosepiece 5/6/7 positions
Full metal body + carry handle
Binocular / Trinocular (camera path options)

What makes EPO800 a professional research platform

  • Infinity independent Plan Achromatic optical system (UIS2 reference) for corrected chromatic aberrations and flatness across the field of view.
  • Variable Köhler illumination (field diaphragm support per configuration) for repeatable contrast and documentation workflows.
  • Precision focusing block: fine focus 100 graduations with 1 μm per graduation and rack stop for slide/objective protection.
  • Modular “building blocks” architecture: DIC, phase contrast, darkfield, polarization, fluorescence (add-ons depend on the chosen configuration).
  • Lab durability: full metal body, chemical-resistance coating, and antimicrobial/antifungal coating (per TechSpec).

Overview

EPO800 series microscopes are compact, maintenance-free, research-grade transmitted-light systems designed for clinical diagnosis, teaching experiments, pathology testing and general biology research.
The platform supports brightfield and optional contrast methods (including DIC and phase contrast), with binocular or trinocular head variants for routine observation and camera documentation.

Key features

  • Viewing head: Siedentopf binocular / trinocular, 30° inclined, 360° rotatable; IPD approx. 52–75 mm (some variants list 50–76 mm); diopter adjustment.
  • Eyepieces: high eye-point wide field options WF10×/20, WF10×/22, or WF10×/25 (configuration-dependent); trinocular tube supports up to 25 mm field of view.
  • Optical path distribution (trinocular): 100/0; 20/80; 0/100 (eyepiece/camera) for flexible imaging workflows.
  • Nosepiece: DIC revolving and reversed nosepiece for 5 / 6 / 7 objectives (variant-dependent).
  • Objectives: Infinity Plan Achromatic objectives (UIS2 optical system reference); optional fluor and specialty objective sets depending on configuration.
  • Condenser: universal Abbe condenser up to NA 1.25 with iris diaphragm, filter holder, centering and height adjustment; optional condensers for DF/PH/DIC slides.
  • Illumination: diascopic LED with uniform light field (≈50,000 h) or 20/30W tungsten-halogen option with constant intensity control; LED power supply integrated in the microscope body.
  • Focusing: coaxial coarse/fine focusing; fine focus 1 μm per graduation; friction control and rack stop (slide protection).
  • Stage: mechanical stage with coaxial XY (left/right hand options), 0.1 mm division; optional ultra-hard ceramic-coated stage and double-layer stages (configuration-dependent).
  • Optional “Light manager” (EPO800LM): objective-coded / per-objective light intensity management (per TechSpec).
