Laboratory Colorimeters
Laboratory colorimeters are compact analytical instruments used for photometric measurement of color intensity in liquid samples, typically after reaction with a specific reagent. In water quality laboratories, laboratory colorimeters support routine testing of drinking water, wastewater, industrial process water, river water, pool water and environmental samples where fast concentration control is required.
Unlike general visual comparison kits, professional colorimeters provide digital measurement, defined optical geometry and repeatable absorbance or concentration readings. This makes them suitable for laboratories that need more reliable results than manual colour interpretation, but do not always require a full UV-Vis spectrophotometer system.
In routine water analysis, colorimeters are commonly used for parameters such as chlorine, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, COD-related methods, iron, manganese, copper and other application-specific chemical tests. The exact parameter range depends on the selected instrument, reagent method and factory program configuration.
Selecting the correct laboratory colorimeter requires evaluation of sample type, required parameter list, wavelength configuration, detection range, resolution, reagent availability, documentation workflow and whether the instrument will be used on the bench or in the field. For drinking water laboratories, simplicity and method repeatability are often the priority. For industrial wastewater and process water, wider ranges, robust calibration and higher measurement flexibility may be more important.
COLO.Science offers laboratory colorimeters and related water-quality instruments for routine photometric testing, drinking-water control, wastewater monitoring and industrial laboratory use.

FEATURED: WATER QUALITY COLORIMETERS
Modern laboratory colorimeters help laboratories convert colour reactions into digital concentration readings. They are especially useful when the laboratory needs faster and more reproducible results than visual test kits, while keeping the workflow simpler and more economical than a full spectrophotometer configuration.
For water-quality applications, the key selection criteria include the required chemical parameters, measurement range, wavelength or optical filter configuration, cuvette format, reagent compatibility, calibration procedure and whether the instrument must support field operation or only bench-top laboratory use. COLO.Science can help match the correct colorimeter model to drinking water, wastewater, environmental or industrial quality-control workflows.
