ALHYB slide hybridization system — 12 slides, denaturation and hybridization in one run, RT+5 °C to 100 °C
The ALHYB slide hybridization system automates the temperature steps of in situ hybridization on microscope slides. Up to twelve slides lie on a flat heated platform under a closing lid, and the instrument runs denaturation and hybridization one after the other, without moving the slides to a second device. The platform is controlled from RT+5 °C to 100 °C to ≤ ±0.5 °C, a touch screen is used to write and start programs, and 300 programs are stored. Product code PRO4347.
One platform for denaturation and hybridization of FISH slides
In slide-based hybridization the sample and the probe are first denatured at a high temperature and then held for hours at a lower one. Done by hand this means a hot plate, a humid chamber, an incubator and a stopwatch. The ALHYB slide hybridization system does both steps on one heated platform, under a closed lid with humidity sponges, following a stored program.

Key characteristics
- 12 slides on one flat heated platform.
- RT+5 °C to 100 °C control range; setting range 0 °C to 100 °C.
- Accuracy and uniformity ≤ ±0.5 °C across the platform.
- Fast temperature change — 37 °C to 95 °C in ≤ 2 min, 95 °C to 45 °C in ≤ 6 min.
- Touch screen for writing, reading and starting programs.
- 300 programs in three operating modes.
- Automatic warm-up and cool-down before and after the run.
- Power recovery — the run continues when the supply returns.
Suitable for
- Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) on microscope slides.
- Other slide-based hybridization methods with a denaturation and a hybridization step.
- Hybridization at one temperature, when denaturation is done separately.
- Multi-step protocols with several temperatures and times.
- Routine series of up to 12 slides per run with programs recalled from memory.
Why a slide hybridization system
The ALHYB slide hybridization system carries out the temperature steps that are otherwise done by hand, so the result depends less on who ran the protocol. The same stored program gives the same temperatures and times each time, and the slides stay under the closed lid through the whole run, which keeps reagent exposure low.
The platform changes temperature quickly — from 37 °C to 95 °C in two minutes or less, and from 95 °C down to 45 °C in six minutes or less — so the time between denaturation and hybridization is short and the same on every run.
Model, product code and operating modes
The ALHYB slide hybridization system is supplied as one model, ready to use. Quote and order with the COLO product code.
12 slides · RT+5 °C to 100 °C · 350 W · 4.5 kg
Temperatures and times of every step are set by the user and stored as a program. The instrument controls temperature and time; it does not dispense reagents.

How a run works
Program
Choose the operating mode and enter the temperatures and times on the touch screen, or recall one of the 300 stored programs.
Load
Moisten the two humidity sponges with purified water, 30 ml each, and fit them in the lid. Place the prepared slides on the platform and close the lid.
Run and end
The ALHYB slide hybridization system warms up and carries out the steps of the program. When the run is over the platform cools down automatically. After a power failure the run continues when the supply returns.
Build, power supply and safe operation
The ALHYB slide hybridization system is a compact mains-powered benchtop instrument: 440 × 220 × 120 mm, 4.5 kg, 350 W, AC 220 V or AC 110 V at 50/60 Hz, protected by a 250 V 3 A fuse (Ø 5 × 20). The mains inlet with the switch and a fan are at the rear.

The platform is marked as a hot surface — it reaches up to 100 °C. The lid has a matching recess for each slide and carries the two humidity sponges. Confirm the mains voltage version and the plug type before the order is placed.

Applications and operational value
The ALHYB slide hybridization system is used in cytogenetics, pathology and molecular biology laboratories that run FISH and other slide-based hybridization methods. It replaces the hot plate, the humid chamber and the incubator for the temperature steps of the protocol.
Twelve positions per run suit routine series, and 300 program places leave room for a separate program for every probe and protocol in use.
Selection guide
- Method. FISH or another slide-based hybridization method with temperature steps.
- Slides per run. The ALHYB slide hybridization system takes up to 12 slides.
- Temperatures. Denaturation and hybridization temperatures must lie within RT+5 °C to 100 °C.
- Lowest working temperature. Control starts 5 °C above room temperature.
- Membranes in bottles? For hybridization in rotating bottles ask for the ALHYB-OV hybridization oven.
- Mains voltage. Confirm AC 220 V or AC 110 V and the plug type for the country of use.
