KJELFAST-K300 Kjeldahl Distillation Unit
KJELFAST-K300 is an automatic Kjeldahl steam distillation unit for nitrogen and protein determination from 0.1 to 240 mg N with recovery ≥99.5 %. It doses dilution water, alkali and boric acid automatically, distils a sample in 3–6 min, washes the alkali line and stops safely on over-temperature, over-pressure or loss of cooling water. The distillate is titrated manually or with a separate titrator — an economical entry into the classical Kjeldahl method.
Overview
Applications
- Protein and nitrogen: crude protein and total nitrogen in food, feed and agricultural samples.
- Water and soil: total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) and ammonium nitrogen in water and soil digests.
- Volatile compounds: ammonium, volatile bases and volatile fatty acids by steam distillation.
- Teaching and small labs: low sample numbers with manual or separate titration.
Why KJELFAST-K300
- Low running cost: 1.3 kW power, standard φ42 mm × 300 mL tubes and open consumables — no proprietary glassware.
- Automatic dosing: dilution water, alkali and boric acid are dosed automatically; each flow can be calibrated.
- Safe operation: over-temperature and over-pressure protection, cooling water control and emergency stop.
- Support: installation, operator training and method validation on your sample by COLO.Science.

Selection guidance
KJELFAST-K300 is selected when a laboratory needs reliable automatic Kjeldahl distillation at the lowest investment and running cost. For integrated titration and printout choose KJELFASTER-K500 or K700; for unattended operation and 21 CFR Part 11 the KJELFASTER-K900.
Configuration checklist
- Sample number: occasional to routine — for integrated titration choose K500 / K700.
- Sample type: solid ≤6 g or liquid ≤16 mL per tube.
- Digestion: 20-position KJELDIG digestor and EXSC5 scrubber.
- Utilities: cooling water tap, drain and 220 V socket next to the bench.

Selection, commissioning and service support
Choosing a laboratory instrument is easier when the application is clear from the start. Tell us what kind of samples you measure, how many per day, which range and accuracy you need and which standards or internal procedures you follow. Based on that, our team recommends a suitable configuration together with the accessories and consumables that make sense for routine work, so you do not pay for options you will never use.
After delivery we stay available for practical questions: first start-up, calibration routine, daily care, storage and typical operator mistakes that shorten the life of sensors and wearing parts. If results begin to drift or the device reports an error, describe the symptoms and we will suggest what to check first before any repair is considered.
Spare parts, replacement sensors and calibration materials can be ordered later through the same contact. For a quotation or technical advice, use the request button on this page and add a short description of your application.
