COLO.SCIENCE – FLAP FLAME PHOTOMETER SERIES
Why FLAP is a practical routine instrument
FLAP is a digital, single-channel flame photometer designed for reliable, rapid results in routine ion analysis. Depending on the configuration, it supports up to five common elements (Na, K, Li, Ca, Ba) with a simple touch-screen workflow and fast response.
It is typically selected where throughput and operational simplicity matter: electrolyte checks, process and QC monitoring, teaching labs, and general-purpose flame photometry where you want stable readings and straightforward calibration.
Key features (short)
- Microprocessor-controlled operation with on-screen graphics (calibration/data).
- Touch-screen control (7″ color LCD) for quick method setup and reading.
- Selectable concentration units (µg/ml, mg/100ml, mmol/l, meq/l).
- Fast analysis with typical response time under 8 seconds.
- USB data output (COLO software optional) for acquisition and reporting.
- Safety system for flame failure (and fire protection features).
Where it fits best
- Clinical and routine electrolyte testing (Na/K/Li/Ca).
- Industrial QC and process monitoring (salts, solutions, raw materials).
- Education and training (clear calibration curves and fast feedback).
- Water/soil/food labs for rapid screening of relevant ions.
PRACTICAL USE & CHECKLISTS
Daily setup checklist (fast)
Confirm gas type and pressure (LPG / natural gas / propane / butane per site), connect the air supply and drain, then power on and select the element/filter. Aspirate blank and standards to build/verify calibration before sample runs.
For documentation, connect via USB (software optional) to log readings, export results and standardize file naming for QC reports.
COLO.Science & deployment
COLO.Science can propose a configuration based on your target ions (filters/elements set), sample type and reporting needs, including compressor/air handling and calibration standards.
If you need validation support (repeatability checks, drift checks, SOP templates), we can align the workflow with your QC requirements.
