CS6010 Benchtop Spectrophotometer — LED colour measurement in reflectance and transmittance
The CS6010 benchtop spectrophotometer (COLO product code PRO7907) is the entry LED model of the series: d/8 reflectance and d/0 transmittance geometry, a 154 mm integrating sphere and simultaneous SCI/SCE for CIE Lab and ΔE of plastic plaques, coatings, textiles, films and liquids. It is intended for routine colour quality control where benchtop geometry is required at the lowest price in the series.
Which benchtop spectrophotometer?
Overview
The CS6010 keeps the sphere and geometries of the series and uses a combined LED light source with 400 nm UV cut-off and three reflectance apertures. Transmittance and haze are measured with the optional transmittance test component, which can be added when needed.

Key characteristics
- Reflectance d/8 and transmittance d/0, SCI and SCE
- Combined LED lamp 360–780 nm, 400 nm UV cut-off
- Repeatability ΔE*ab ≤ 0.02 (reflectance) and ≤ 0.03 (transmittance)
- Inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab ≤ 0.15
- Reflectance apertures Ø30/25.4, 10/8 and 6/4 mm, recognised automatically
- Haze per ASTM D1003 with the transmittance component
Suitable for
- Opaque and translucent plastic plaques, masterbatch and compounds
- Paints, coatings, inks and pigments; textiles and paper
- Films, sheets and glass in transmittance; liquids in cuvettes
- Colour quality control with CIE Lab (D65/10°) and ΔE pass/fail
Why this instrument
Incoming material and finished product are often checked against one standard, many times a day. For this work the CS6010 provides the same d/8 geometry and SCI/SCE measurement as the larger models of the series, with an LED light source and a standard set of three apertures — enough for plaques, panels and textiles, at a price that suits routine quality control.

Software and data

The PC software stores standards with their tolerances, shows the spectrum, the colour plot and the colour difference, and exports results for reports and archiving. Quality-control and sample modes are also available directly on the 7″ touch screen.
Reflectance and transmittance results are kept in the same database, so one standard can be checked in both modes.

Selection guide
- Close agreement with other laboratories, fluorescent samples: CS6080 — xenon lamp, three UV cut-off filters and ΔE*ab ≤ 0.12 between instruments.
- Same agreement and aperture range with an LED source: CS6060 — LED and UV lamp, apertures down to Ø4 mm, Bluetooth.
- Xenon light at a lower price, second instrument for daily checks: CS6020.
- Routine colour checks, budget first: CS6010 — LED entry model with the same sphere and geometries.
- Transmittance or haze: all four models; with the CS6020 and CS6010 order the transmittance test component.
- Large or curved parts at the production line: a portable spectrophotometer is the better tool — ask us for the right model.
