MBIN7 Portable Microbiological Incubator · 9.2 L and 12.8 L

The MBIN7 portable microbiological incubator comes in two chamber volumes: 9.2 L (MBIN9, PRO2993) and 12.8 L (MBIN12, PRO5371). It holds the temperature from 5 °C above room temperature up to 65 °C with ±0.5 °C fluctuation. Natural convection with four-side heating, a PID controller with Pt100 sensor, a mirror stainless-steel chamber, a top handle and an optional 12 V vehicle power supply.

Two chamber volumes: 9.2 L and 12.8 L

Both models stand on the same 310 × 276 mm footprint and have the same chamber width and depth; MBIN12 is 80 mm taller. Each size comes in a 220 V version or a 12 V version (100–240 V AC plus 12 V DC car connector).

Which volume do you need?

MBIN9 (9.2 L) is the lighter choice: 8 kg, 298 mm high, for a few racks of plates or short tubes and for frequent carrying. MBIN12 (12.8 L) gives about 40 % more space on the same footprint: the chamber is 280 mm high instead of 200 mm, so taller tubes, flasks and higher stacks of plates fit in.

Both have 2 shelves (5 kg each, 35 mm apart), the same controller and the same 12 V option. Keep the setpoint at least 5 °C above the surroundings — in a vehicle, above the temperature inside the vehicle.

Operating functions

PID control and timer

The LED display shows the measured temperature in the upper row and the setpoint in the lower row. The timer runs from 0 to 9999 minutes; with timing wait it starts only when the setpoint is reached.

Safety and settings

An over-temperature sound and light alarm and a sensor-fault alarm protect the samples. The menu and internal parameters can be locked, and all settings are kept after a power cut.

Construction, transport and care

The mirror stainless-steel chamber with rounded corners is easy to wipe and disinfect; polyurethane insulation keeps the temperature with little power. The power switch and socket are on the back.

For transport, secure the incubator so it cannot slide or tip, and let the temperature settle again after moving. Clean with a neutral detergent and a dry cloth.
