How the Listeria Chromogenic Selective Supplement is used
The supplement contains the selective agents and the phospholipid substrate needed for the opaque halo of L. monocytogenes. It is reconstituted with sterile water and added to the cooled base.

Applications and practical notes
The supplement completes the chromogenic first plating medium of ISO 11290-1. Typical applications include:

Working with Listeria Chromogenic Selective Supplement: Vortex the vial until the content is completely dissolved and the suspension is homogeneous, then add it only to the cooled sterile base and mix gently before pouring.
Good practice with media and supplements: keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place, weigh the powder quickly to avoid moisture uptake, and use fresh distilled or deionised water. Check the pH of each new batch after preparation and before use, and label prepared media with the date.
