Concentration & Evaporation

Rotary evaporation

A rotating flask and heated bath transfer heat to the sample. Reduced pressure allows evaporation at a lower temperature, while a cooled condenser recovers the solvent.

Sample concentration

Concentrate multiple small samples according to the vessel format, sample count, solvent and method. The SACO range includes sample concentrators for parallel preparation; nitrogen blowdown and vacuum concentration have different operating principles.

Cooling, vacuum and vapour protection

Condenser chiller

A recirculating chiller supplies temperature-controlled coolant to the condenser and removes heat from solvent vapour. The optional CIBAC45 provides a 7.3 L bath and a −10 to +100 °C operating range.

Select cooling capacity at the required setpoint against the solvent load and evaporation rate.

Vacuum pump and control

The pump establishes reduced pressure. A controller regulates the vacuum for a stable process. The optional VACUU-COT30 is an oil-free, single PTFE-head diaphragm pump with nominal pumping speed of 30 L/min.

Cold trap

A cold trap captures residual vapour in the vacuum line when additional vapour protection is needed. It has a separate role from the circulating chiller that cools the evaporator condenser.

Match the trapping temperature and capacity to the solvent, operating pressure and vacuum pump.

Information for model selection

Include the solvent, starting sample volume, target concentration, sample count per day, temperature sensitivity and required processing time. For a complete system, specify glassware, cooling, vacuum pump, regulation and vapour protection.
