ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator — RT−25 °C to 100 °C, heated lid, 5-point programs, 99 cycles
The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator heats and cools samples in an exchangeable block with semiconductor (Peltier) elements, without a compressor and without water. With a heating and cooling block it controls from 25 °C below room temperature to 100 °C to ≤ ±0.3 °C at 37 °C and holds samples at 4 °C. Each block has its own sensor and is recognised automatically, and a heated lid limits condensation in the tubes. Product code PRO6372.
Cooling and heating in the same block
Many protocols need a cold step and a hot step: a ligation at 16 °C and an inactivation at 65 °C, or samples kept at 4 °C between incubations. With an ice bucket and a heating block the tubes travel back and forth. The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator does both in one block, at set temperatures, and moves from one to the next by itself.

Why a cooling dry block instead of ice
Ice gives one temperature, melts and wets the tubes. The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator holds any temperature down to 25 °C below room temperature for as long as the protocol needs, dry, and shows the block temperature on the display.
The temperature is measured in the block itself, because every block has its own sensor and its own heating and cooling unit. The heated lid presses on the tubes and limits condensation on the caps.
Model, product code and blocks
The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator is supplied without a block. Cooling requires a heating and cooling block; heating blocks can be used for work above room temperature. One block is in the instrument at a time. Quote and order with the COLO product code.

How a run works
Block and program
Fit the block for your tubes or plate; the instrument shows the block type. Set block temperature, lid temperature and time, or a program with up to 5 points and up to 99 cycles.
Load and start
Load the tubes, close the heated lid and start. The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator moves from point to point by itself.
End of run
The run stops at the end of the time or holds the last temperature, for example 4 °C, until you take the samples out.
Build, controls and safe operation
The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator measures 300 × 200 × 210 mm and weighs 4.7 kg without a block. The supply is AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz, 150 W. The LCD shows the mode, the block type, block and lid temperature and time; direct keys set mode, program, block temperature, lid temperature and time.

Temperature calibration and over-temperature protection are built in, and a run restarts automatically when the supply returns after a power failure. Keep the ventilation slots free — the Peltier elements give their heat off through them. The block and the lid can be hot.
Standard delivery
- ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator with heated lid.
- Mains cable.
- Operating manual.
- Declaration of conformity and warranty documentation.
The block is ordered separately under its own product code. Tubes, plates and samples are not part of the instrument. The delivered configuration for a specific order is the one confirmed in the COLO.Science quotation.

Applications and operational value
The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator is used in molecular biology, biochemistry, clinical and quality control laboratories for enzyme reactions, ligation, denaturation, inactivation and cold storage of samples between steps.
Because the blocks are exchanged in seconds and recognised automatically, one instrument serves micro tubes, PCR tubes and 96-well plates.
Selection guide
- Tubes or plate. The format decides the block: 2.0 ml, 1.5 ml, 0.5 ml, 0.2 ml tubes or a 96-well plate.
- Lowest temperature. For work below room temperature choose a heating and cooling block.
- Room temperature. The lowest block temperature is 25 °C below it — about 0 °C in a room at 25 °C.
- Heating only? The ALEMADR-DB is the same instrument for RT+5 °C to 100 °C.
- Mains voltage. AC 220 V is standard; AC 110 V on request.
- Bench space. The ALEMADR-DBC cooling dry block incubator needs 300 × 200 mm, plus room to open the lid.
