LHDM450D — Digital High-Shear Homogenizer, Dispersion and Emulsification
OVERVIEW
The LHDM450D hand homogenizer is a compact, digital device for fast dispersion, emulsification and homogenization of liquid and semi-liquid samples in QC and R&D laboratories.
With stepless speed control in the range 4000–26000 rpm (no-load), LED display and timer operation (10 s – 15 min) with an audible end-of-cycle signal, LHDM450D enables a reproducible process with interchangeable 316 SS working heads and overload/overheat protection.

DETAILS: WHY LHDM450D
The LHDM450D hand homogenizer is a portable laboratory device for efficient dispersion, emulsification and homogenization of liquid and semi-liquid samples. With 300 W motor input power and 160 W output power, the unit reaches 4000–26000 rpm (no-load) and offers fully stepless speed control. This level of control supports precise protocol standardization—especially important in QC and R&D labs where high reproducibility and a stable shear effect are required.
In practice, high-shear homogenization is critical for breaking particle agglomerates, rapid powder wetting, uniform phase distribution and producing long-term stable emulsions. LHDM450D uses interchangeable 316 stainless steel working heads (12G, 18G, 24G, 30G, 36G) supporting volumes from 30 mL to 2500 mL depending on the method. 316 SS provides good chemical resistance to many laboratory media, including aqueous and mildly aggressive solutions.
The unit features a digital timer (up to 99 h 59 min 59 s) with an audible end-of-cycle signal, enabling precise definition of shear treatment time. Overload and overheat protection increase safety, extend service life and reduce unplanned stops due to thermal stress. With ergonomic design and a compact weight of approx. 2.5 kg, it is suitable for bench work and mobile use between workstations.
Typical applications include dispersing powders into liquids, homogenizing suspensions, solutions and emulsions, formulation work in cosmetic and chemical R&D, and routine sample preparation at universities and in analytical laboratories. For viscous samples (up to 5000 mPa·s), intermittent operation with short intervals and pauses is recommended to maintain torque and reduce thermal load. LHDM450D delivers a stable shear effect with minimal cycle-to-cycle variation and is therefore commonly used as a hand homogenizer in validated sample preparation protocols.
