OVERVIEW
The COSIT200 sieve shaker is an electromagnetic laboratory sieve shaker designed for
particle size testing and granulometric separation in quality control and R&D.
Its combined vertical and horizontal vibration generates efficient 3D particle motion,
helping particles repeatedly encounter sieve openings for repeatable classification.
Sieving remains a widely adopted technique for particle size analysis, especially in pharmaceuticals, food,
chemicals and industrial powders. COSIT200 supports dry or wet sieving methods, a
1–99 minute timer, and continuous or interval cycles to support cohesive and blinding-prone samples.

Particle Size Testing with Sieve Analysis

and bulk materials. In routine quality control it provides a simple, defensible way to compare batch-to-batch
consistency, evaluate milling and granulation performance, and verify incoming raw materials. The COSIT200 electromagnetic
sieve shaker supports these workflows by generating a combined vertical + horizontal vibration that creates
three-dimensional particle motion and improves separation efficiency across the sieve stack.
For repeatable results, standardize the method: use a representative test portion (ideally prepared with a splitter),
maintain consistent sieving time, and avoid overloading the mesh. Cohesive or very fine materials may benefit
from interval mode (discontinuous cycles) or wet sieving to reduce blinding and improve dispersion.
After the run, fractions retained on each sieve are weighed to calculate mass percentage by size class and to report a clear PSD profile.
