COLO.SCIENCE – OPTIC102BH (MEDICAL & VETERINARY ROUTINE)
Why OPTIC102BH is a practical choice for routine medical lab microscopy
The OPTIC102 series is positioned as a cost-effective, advanced laboratory microscope commonly used in
teaching, medicine, clinical work and biology research.
For facilities that need stable daily performance (and do not require a camera port on every unit), the OPTIC102BH binocular
configuration is an efficient standard for medical laboratories, veterinary labs and medical practices.
The microscope uses an Infinity independent plan achromatic optical system (F=200 mm) to correct chromatic aberrations and
field curvature across the field of view, supporting clear and consistent routine observation.
Key strengths (short)
- Koehler illumination (upright microscope) for uniform lighting.
- Siedentopf binocular head, 30° inclined, 360° rotatable; IPD 48–75 mm; diopter adjustable.
- Revolving reversed nosepiece for 4 or 5 objectives (with grip).
- Abbe condenser NA 0.9/1.25 oil with iris diaphragm and filter holder (contrast sliders).
- Coaxial mechanical stage (right hand), 0.1 mm division; holds 1–2 slides.
- Antimicrobial/antifungal coating + rigid full-metal body for durability.
Where it fits best
- Clinical routine microscopy (brightfield, transmitted light).
- Veterinary routine labs and education (teaching / training labs).
- Laboratories that need consistent mechanics, comfortable viewing, and low maintenance.
- Upgradeable workflows: phase contrast / darkfield / multi-purpose contrast condenser (options).
PRACTICAL USE & CHECKLISTS
Daily routine checklist (fast)
Set comfortable IPD/diopter, focus at low magnification, then optimize condenser/iris for contrast. Use the rack stop to prevent objectives from touching the slide.
If your SOP requires phase contrast or darkfield, OPTIC102 supports relevant options (objectives/condenser) depending on configuration.
COLO.Science & equipment
At COLO.Science, routine microscopes are positioned for fast deployment in clinical and teaching environments: stable mechanics, repeatable illumination, and configuration options when your lab protocols evolve.
If you need a camera-ready variant, OPTIC102 also supports trinocular versions and C-mount adapters as optional configurations.
