Nichiryo Low Retention Filter Tips 100 µL, Sterile · Sterile Filter Tips in Racks

Nichiryo Low Retention Filter Tips 100 µL, Sterile are highly transparent tips with excellent liquid drainage. When you pipette proteins, enzymes, viscous media or solutions with detergents, much less liquid stays on the tip wall – the volume set on the pipette is the volume you dispense. This size is supplied as a filter tip in sterile racks.

Where low retention tips pay off

Every liquid wets the inner wall of a tip a little. With water this is negligible, but proteins, detergents and viscous media cling to the surface and a thin film stays behind. Low retention tips release the liquid cleanly, which improves accuracy and reproducibility between replicates.

  • PCR and qPCR set-up – master mixes with glycerol and detergents are dispensed completely.
  • Proteins and enzymes – antibodies, enzymes and protein standards stay in the sample.
  • Detergent solutions – Tween, Triton or SDS solutions that foam and creep up the wall.
  • Viscous liquids – glycerol stocks, cell lysates and similar media.
  • Precious samples – DNA/RNA and small sample volumes, when every microlitre counts.

How to choose

  • Routine work, own racks – bulk bag or refill stacks.
  • Ready to use, sterile – sterile rack.
  • PCR, cell culture, aerosol-sensitive samples – filter tip in sterile rack.
  • Other sizes – see all volumes on the Nichiryo Low Retention tips page.
  • Economical tips for routine pipetting – see NichimateAqua tips.

Handling tips for accurate results

  • Press the pipette firmly into the tip with a slight twist – a good seal is the basis of accurate volumes.
  • Pre-wet the tip once or twice with the sample before the measured aspiration, especially with viscous liquids and detergents.
  • Aspirate slowly with the tip just below the liquid surface and dispense against the vessel wall.
  • Use a new tip for every sample; with sterile work open the rack only next to the working area.
  • Store tips in their original packaging, protected from dust and direct sunlight.
