Standard tips with high transparency and excellent liquid drainage. When you pipette viscous liquids, proteins or solutions with detergents, much less liquid stays behind on the tip wall – so the volume you set is the volume you dispense, and costly reagents are not lost.

The problem

Why liquid stays behind in a standard tip

Every liquid wets the inner wall of a tip a little. With water this is negligible, but proteins, enzymes, detergents and viscous media cling to the surface: a thin film and small droplets stay in the tip after dispensing.

The result is a smaller dispensed volume than set, poorer reproducibility between replicates and, with expensive reagents, real money left in the waste bin. Foaming surfactant solutions make it worse – bubbles hold liquid in the tip.

Low Retention tips are designed for excellent drainage: the liquid leaves the tip cleanly, the result follows the volume on the pipette.

Recommended by Nichiryo especially for viscous liquids and surfactants that foam during dispensing – and therefore ideal for preparing PCR reagents.

PCR & qPCR set-up

Master mixes contain glycerol and detergents – complete drainage keeps every reaction identical.

Sterile racks

96 tips per rack, 10 racks per box (long 200 µL: 2 racks). Racks can be autoclaved at 121 °C for 20 minutes; replace them if deformed or discoloured.

Refill stacks

96 tips × 5 stacks × 2 (1250 µL: 4 stacks) – refill your empty racks with much less plastic waste. Non-sterile.

Bulk bags

1000 tips per bag, the most economical option for routine work. Non-sterile; to autoclave, first transfer the tips to a rack or glass container.
