COLO.SCIENCE — PRODUCT PACKAGING AND PRODUCTION WEIGHING
Precision balance for accurate weighing during product packaging
The DECO4 precision packaging balance is designed for production environments where product weight must be controlled during packaging, filling or batch preparation. It combines a 4000 g weighing range with fine 0.01 g readability, making it useful when packaging accuracy, repeatability and product consistency are important.
Unlike a basic laboratory balance, DECO4 supports product-oriented workflows such as target weight control, min/max limits, percentage deviation, parts counting, barcode-supported product identification and optional result printing. This makes it suitable as a compact weighing workstation for packaging and production quality control.
Key features
- 4000 g capacity with 0.01 g readability for precise packaging and production weighing.
- 7″ capacitive touchscreen for product selection, weighing modes and operator workflow.
- Min/max checkweighing for checking product packages against defined weight limits.
- Percentage deviation control for comparing actual product weight to a target or reference value.
- Parts counting mode for packaging, kitting and quantity control of small components.
- Internal calibration for stable weighing performance in daily production use.
Suitable for
- Precise weighing during product packaging and filling.
- Packaging control for food, chemical, cosmetic and technical products.
- Batch preparation and portion control up to 4000 g.
- Checkweighing of finished packs, kits and product sets.
- Parts counting for small components and packaging elements.

Precise weighing during product packaging
Target package weight
DECO4 helps operators control the target mass of products, containers, bags, bottles, kits or sample packages. The 0.01 g readability supports fine adjustment when product weight must stay close to a defined packaging value.
Acceptance limits
The balance can support min/max control workflows where a package is accepted only when the measured value is within defined limits. This is useful for internal packaging control and repeated production checks.
Product data and optional printing
With suitable configuration, DECO4 can be used with product records, barcode-supported workflows and optional result printing. This helps connect weighing results with product identity, batch information and packaging checks.

PACKAGING WORKFLOW
Touchscreen workflow for packaging weight control
The DECO4 precision packaging balance is designed for structured weighing, not only for simple mass display. The touchscreen menu supports tare, zero, counting, percentage weighing, product limits and optional printing of measurement data.
This makes DECO4 useful when an operator needs to weigh packaged products, compare them with acceptance limits and repeat the same workflow across different product types or batch sizes.
Applications in packaging and production
Packaging control
As a precision packaging balance, DECO4 helps control product weight during packaging, filling and final pack verification up to 4000 g.
Production quality control
The balance supports repeatable weighing checks for semi-finished products, finished products, raw materials and small production batches.
Parts counting and kitting
DECO4 can also operate as a counting balance when the reference weight of one part is known, making it useful for packaging small parts by quantity.
Incoming goods inspection
The 4000 g range is useful for weighing incoming materials, components, containers and product samples that require more capacity than a 3 kg model.
When to choose DECO4 for product packaging?
The DECO4 precision packaging balance is a strong choice when product packages, containers or batches are often above 3 kg but still require fine 0.01 g readability. It offers more capacity than DECO3 while keeping the same fine-resolution weighing concept for product packaging and production control.
Choose DECO4 when accurate weighing during product packaging is more important than simply reaching a high maximum load. If products are normally below 3 kg, DECO3 may be sufficient. If products frequently approach 5 kg, DECO5 should be considered. COLO.Science can help define the correct DECO model according to maximum product mass, packaging tolerance, counting workflow, printing, barcode use and communication requirements.
