MAKLER100 Sperm Counting Chamber

Quartz Glass Counting Chamber | 10 µm Depth | 1 mm² Grid | Sperm Concentration and Motility Workflow

MAKLER100 sperm counting chamber is a simple optical counting device for rapid sperm concentration and motility assessment from an undiluted specimen. The quartz glass optical path, fixed 10 µm chamber depth and 1 mm² counting grid help laboratories perform routine semen analysis workflow under a biological microscope.

Product Overview and Workflow
Counting chamber principle
Fixed optical depth: three ruby spacers provide a defined 10 µm chamber height for repeatable sample thickness.
Known grid area: the 1 mm² grid is subdivided into 100 squares of 0.1 x 0.1 mm for direct microscopic counting.
Undiluted specimen: the chamber is intended for rapid assessment from an undiluted semen specimen when used according to local SOP.
Quartz optical path: quartz glass supports clear transmitted-light observation and routine cleaning.
Spermogram elements supported
Concentration: direct count of cells in defined grid areas can support sperm concentration reporting.
Motility: live observation under brightfield microscopy supports progressive, non-progressive and immotile categorization according to laboratory method.
Vitality / morphology notes: chamber observation may support screening, while formal morphology or vitality assessment should follow the laboratory's validated staining and microscopy protocol.
Documentation: camera capture helps record fields, training examples and QC review images.
Typical operating sequence
Prepare: mix the specimen gently and bring chamber, cover and sample to the laboratory's required working temperature.
Load: apply a small specimen volume so the chamber fills by capillary action without bubbles or overflow.
Set microscope: use brightfield transmitted light, focus on the grid plane and adjust condenser/illumination for high contrast.
Count and classify: count selected grid areas and classify motility categories using a consistent field pattern and timing.
Quality-control considerations
Cleaning: clean optical glass immediately after use according to laboratory-compatible disinfectant and rinse procedure.
Repeatability: keep loading method, timing after loading, observation magnification and counting pattern consistent.
Training: use camera images and stored example fields to align operators on counting rules.
Limitations: this sheet describes equipment and workflow support; it does not define clinical reference limits or diagnostic interpretation.
